Parma’s Sebastian Giovinco Sour Towards Juventus

Parma ace Sebastian Giovinco has said competition at Juventus with the Old Lady hierarchy saw his relationship there splinter.

And he has blamed Alessandro Del Piero for his less than perfect time in Turin as his career foundered.

His time with La Vecchia Signora was ephemeral. Hopes were met with hindrance as he never played, and ultimately he was forced to leave in the summer.

“Did Del Piero call me during my injury? No. He never called me,” Giovinco told Il Corriere dello Sport.

“In any case, when I was at Juventus he never used to call me.

“He has never said anything on me. Was there tension between me and him? Maybe he never liked me.”

To address the problem, Giovinco thought it was best to move to Parma and construct his own legacy at the Ennio Tardini.

He has recovered from a downward spiral at Juventus to reshape his identity with the Ducali.

“I am getting back to my best form. It was important to come back against Roma. It gave me good signs. I have a good relationship with the coach too,” he added.

“Am I thinking of Juventus? No. Zero. My present is Parma and I want to think about this. The rest doesn’t count.”

Parma’s Sebastian Giovinco Promises To Recover Top Form Soon

Giovinco reassures the Parma fans of his potential…

Parma midfielder Sebastian Giovinco has pledged to return to top form sooner rather than later and hopes to drag his team out of the relegation zone.

The 23-year-old, who has been suffering from an injury of late, played in the scoreless draw with Roma on Sunday afternoon but didn’t look 100 per cent fit.

Giovinco believes that he will return to form for Parma very quickly and hopes to lead them to a much needed win.

“We are missing a victory and a goal to get out of this situation,” he told reporters.

“But the team has already given a good performance against Cesena and then against Roma. I am confident.

“I am still not 100 per cent, but I count on being so very soon.”

Parma are currently at the foot of the table in Serie A with just seven points from eight matches.

Giovinco back against Roma

Pasquale Marino welcomes back Sebastian Giovinco for the Roma clash, “a difficult game in which both sides really need the points.”

The Stadio Tardini hosts this new 12.30pm local time (11.30am in the UK) start on Sunday that has strangely become a relegation dogfight.

“It is a difficult game in which both sides really need the points. They’ll come here to win, but we will face them with determination,” said the Parma boss.

The Ducali are currently in penultimate place with six points from seven rounds, while Roma only have eight and are fresh from a 3-1 Champions League home defeat to Basel.

“We want to get back to winning ways. So far we have not picked up as many points as we deserved.”

There is an important boost for the Gialloblu, as Giovinco is back in the side a month after his injury.

“I don’t think that he’s fit enough to start, as he only resumed training two days ago. He is in good shape, but doesn’t yet have match fitness.

“We adjusted the training schedule this week to get accustomed to the different kick-off time. We play at this hour because of television commitments and can only accept it.”

Parma midfielder Sebastian Giovinco out for 4 weeks due to thigh injury

Bad news for the Italian club Parma: their prized 23-year old midfielder, ‘formica atomica’ Giovinco is about to be benched for a month after the player suffered a thigh injury.

Parma’s attacking midfielder is expected to be one of their top guns this season after they acquired him on loan from Juventus this summer. Now, however, during the first leg of the season, Giovinco will be watching the matches in Serie A from the sidelines.

The Crusaders had an impressive last season according to their standards in which they finished at the 8th position in the league. Over time, their conditions and performance has improved and more is expected from them.

Sebastian Giovinco is sure to be the man with the torch for them in this race. However, his injury will definitely dampen their campaign. The injury was picked up in the match against Lecce which ended in a 1 – 1 draw.

The technically skilled player, nicknamed the “Atomic Ant”, was taken off the field during the middle of a match as the player was facing thigh strains and discomfort. He was immediately taken for tests which later confirmed that the player had been injured.

Early reports from the medical team have revealed that the player will be out for at least 4 weeks but it will take him a month to make full recovery. More tests and examinations are being conducted and it is assumed that the results will fly in soon.

Giovinco has been of the best performers for Gialloblu. Though head coach Pasquale Marino and his men have been under criticism for irregularities in their performance, he has been the exception as he has shone like a beacon for them this season.

It is a well heard rumour that the Italian team’s national coach Cesare Prandelli, who also managed Parma from 2002 to 2004, was the man who tipped the club to sign in the talented player.

Currently, Parma have five points on the table having played four matches in the Italian League, Serie A. Their next clash is against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi this Sunday. They will certainly have a point to prove on their away leg.
