Giovinco: “We missed a chance to draw closer”

There were nine finals to win in order to try and achieve what seems to be very difficult. Unfortunately, the first did not end in the best of ways, ruined by Chievo which believed in it till the very end stealing a historical draw in Turin. The 3-3 end result interrupted the bianconeri’s run and the possibility of reducing the margin from Inter to 4 points while watching the match of the nerazzurri in Udine in greater tranquillity.

At the end of the match, the disappointment is mostly due to this, the missed chance to reduce the margin from the top of the table.
Here is what Sebastian Giovinco thinks:

We missed a chance. We could have won and drawn closer. It’s a pity because we deserved to win apart from in the first half hour of the match when we found ourselves in some difficulty. For the rest of the match we created many chances. Now we must continue thinking of ourselves and not of Inter.

Giovinco: “It Was Important To Win”

The young Sebastian Giovinco has shown great personality and has been in constant crescendo in the last matches showing a great form:

“I am happy. It was important to win and play as we did in the last matches keeping up the consistency”. The Atomic Ant is constantly getting more used to captain Del Piero and the other veterans:

“When there are technical players it is normal to take advantage and this favours Alex and Iaquinta. I am happy to play with him and get more used to him. I always tried to do my best and my team mates are helping me a great deal. I still have a lot to learn”.

Atomic Ant happy with Juve win

Juventus’ Sebastian Giovinco feels Juventus’ 4-1 defeat of Bologna was an ideal tonic after their Champions League woes.

The Turin outfit were sensationally bundled out of Europe’s elite competition 3-2 on aggregate by Chelsea on Tuesday, leading many observers to claim that their season was effectively over.

However, after after Massimo Mutarelli had put Bologna ahead in the 24th minute, a dominant second-half display from the Bianconeri gave them all three points.

Hasan Salihimidzic equalised in the 49th minute before Giovinco put them ahead in the 71st.

A brace from Del Piero in the 75th and 88th minutes sealed a win which takes Juve just four points behind Inter, who face Fiorentina on Sunday.

Not surprisingly, Giovinco was delighted with both Juve’s display and his own goal.

“We played a great match. We had to respond to the elimination in the Champions League and we did,” said the midfielder who has been dubbed ‘The Atomic Ant’.

“My goal was beautiful but what was the secret behind it? Well, I didn’t hit the ball well but I scored.

“I have tried to find some consistency and am now playing a number of matches I think I managed to find that. I am happy that I managed to move around and make myself a point of reference and even having managed to give a helping hand in the defensive phase.

“We created a lot even in the first half but we were not lucky or so incisive. I am trying to be as incisive as possible,” he added.
