Out for at least 3 weeksGiovinco will miss the first couple matches of the new season…

Juventus playmaker Sebastian Giovinco has revealed that an injury he suffered to his left thigh during the 4-1 friendly loss to Villarreal will keep him sidelined for around three weeks.

“Yes, I have to stop for at least 20 days, if not more,” explained the former Empoli star to Tuttosport.

“It’s a pity, I could have used the time. I hope to resolve the issue as soon as possible. For two weeks I will train on the ground and then begin with the differential [treatment].”

Giovinco is hoping to cement his place at Juventus this season, but has admitted himself his role will likely be as a substitute for Diego, who arrived from Werder Bremen this summer.

During the summer, the starlet played a prominent role for Italy at the Under-21 European championships in Sweden.
